DIVINE WIND
DEARTH WIND
EDITORIAL
This
page has not been written with the intention to offer a tribute to
any suicidal tactics.
It only tries to be an historical diary of the tragic events
initiated in the Philippines in October of 1944
and that became general until the capitulation of the
Japanese Empire in August of 1945.
Most
of the studies of Word War II (in Spanish language) arent
exhaustive in this subject
with so little commentaries, to be far from reality, like:
the kamikaze actions caused irrelevant damages to the
allied warmachine,
little they contributed to the Japanese final resistance.
In a certain way they do not sin to the truth, but
Only when it is come to the
study, more or less detailed, of the
actions kamikaze is appraised the enormous suffering
that they caused, as much to allied naval forces
(mainly American) as to their own families of the Japanese suicidal pilots.
The
feeling that took to these pilots to accept the suicidal
tactics is as complicated as simple.
1-The safe death, by technical and numerical inferiority before
allied aviation, in a conventional attack.
2-The spirit of a town soldier who did not admit
to defeat.
The certain thing is that that madness really only can be
understood under the pressure of the events of that time
and although there is a certain similarity with the terrorist
attacks of the 11 of September of 2001 on the twin towers,
it is not necessary to forget that the reality is well different
per time and type attack:
The philosophy of the Japanese forces was exclusively
military,
to attack defenceless civilians was a dishonour
for the suicidal pilots. Within the irrational madness of the war
they were in its majority idealistic gentleman.
It is really lamentable that the West, and the world in general,
insists on its obstinate persistence of not learning of history.
Were it to have done, the twin towers will continue caressing the sky. Not to mention
the countless number of Arab suicidal attacks against civil
objectives
I
insist, again, in INDICATING that this page is solely
an historical study.
And since so it has to be understood. Not admitting under any
concept any approach to the vindication
terrorist forces suicide on who in these times, touches our lives.
